On Friday, we participated in a First Aid Course .
We learnt how to prevent injury and give basic first aid by using the acronym, 'DRSABCD'
We were shown how to give CPR for different situations and practiced it for two minutes which proved how tiring it was. We then learnt how to cover cuts, sprains and embedded objects using our bandage packets. We also learnt how to make various slings for shoulder, elbow, forearm and wrist injuries.
Following lunch, we split into our two rooms and learnt some more first aid for insect and spider bites. Then we performed the practical part of our assessment where we split into pairs and got a scenario which we had to attend to. We were assessed on our orders of priority and how we referred back to 'DRSABCD'
Then we participated in our theory assessment which was a 50 question multiple choice quiz which i got 49/50 for :)

On the 18th May the Entertainment class visited the 'Australian Film, Television and Radio School' in Fox Studios Moore Park to complete a workshop on camera skills.
The workshop was run by cinematographer Gareth Tillson. We were taught how to tell a story using a camera and camera techniques such as the rule of thirds and aiming and framing.
We also learnt different film techniques such as:
-Panning
-Tilting
-Shots (Wide shot, Close up, Extreme Close up, Mid shot, Long shot).
We then went into groups and received a short script which we had to portray in a short sequence of films. After this we went on a short tour of the college where we saw prop rooms, editing rooms, radio studios and film studios.
